Glenn Henry Carminati passed away peacefully on Sunday, Feb. 24, 2013. He was born to his parents, John Baptist and Catherine Corado Carminati in Montague, Texas. His family moved to California when Glenn was 7 years old. Glenn graduated from El Cerrito High School in 1951. He was also a member of the St. John's Catholic Church youth group, "The Catacombe Club" in El Cerrito.
Glenn was drafted into the Army in 1952 and was based at Fort Hood, San Luis Obispo-Signal Corp. as Kitchen Head Cook where he was honorably discharged in 1954.
Glenn later worked as a cabinetmaker and Formica counter craftsman. He then was introduced to the paint making trade and worked for DeSoto Chem Coatings-Berkeley-Davlin Paint-Oakland-Golden West Paint-Dixon. In 1984 Glenn opened "All Seasons Paint Co." in Woodland.
Glenn and his wife, Rosemarie operated the successful business until 1999 when they retired. Glenn was a member of Holy Rosary Parish and the "Woodland Reveille Lions Club."
Glenn will be remembered by his loving wife of 57 years Rosemarie and their daughters Victoria Carminati, Maryann Carminati, Glenda Kipperman; son John Glenn Carminati (Laura); six grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren; sister Helen Carminati Barker (Richard) of Fairfield; and many nieces and nephews. Glenn was preceded in death by his mother Catherine Corado Carminati and his father John Baptist Carminati. Also missing Glenn will be his "chairwarmer," Brandi, his 3-year-old "Chug."
A vigil will be held at 7 p.m., Wednesday, March 13, at McNary's Funeral Chapel, 458 College St., Woodland. The funeral mass is scheduled for 10:30 a.m., Thursday, March 14, at Holy Rosary Catholic Church, 301 Walnut St., Woodland. Private services will be held at Sacramento Valley VA National Cemetery, 5810 Midway Road, Dixon. McNary's Funeral Chapel is assisting the family with arrangements.
