Lawrence (Larry) A. Baker

Lawrence (Larry) A. Baker, 51, passed away on Wednesday, March 6, 2013, in Denver, Colo. Larry was born in the Yolo General Hospital on Jan. 22, 1962, and lived in Woodland his entire life, attending Holy Rosary School, Woodland Junior High and Woodland High School. Larry was a board member for the Yolo County Cabrillo Club No. 26 and enjoyed cooking for the linguica breakfasts and Sopa Dinners. He was an avid hunter and fisherman. Larry worked for more than 20 years as a garage door installer, drove 18-wheeler trucks for the past three years, and at the time of his death worked for Swift Transportation.
Larry is survived by his mother Barbara G. Baker, sisters Debbie Baker of Woodland, Cathy Zgraggen (Eric) of La Pine, Ore.; brother Tony Baker of Woodland, Wash.; niece Angela Zgraggen of Bend, Ore., and nephew Brandon Zgraggen (Larissa) of Corvallis, Ore. He was preceded in death by his father Lawrence V. Baker.
A Mass is scheduled for 10:30 a.m., Friday, March 22, at Holy Rosary Catholic Church, 301 Walnut St., Woodland, with the burial following the Mass at St. Joseph's Cemetery, 860 West St., Woodland. A reception will be held after the burial at the Reveille Lions Clubhouse, 417 Lincoln Ave., Woodland. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the Yolo County Cabrillo Club No. 26 Scholarship Fund, P.O. Box 1402, Woodland, CA 95776.
