Lynn Louise Rohwer Obituary
Lynn Louise Rohwer
Oct. 10, 1941 - Oct. 31, 2013

Lynn Louise Rohwer, 72, of Woodland passed away on Thursday, Oct. 31, 2013, with her family by her side. Lynn was born on Oct. 10, 1941 in Santa Monica, and graduated from Camarillo High School in 1960. Lynn earned bachelor's degrees in history from the College of Notre Dame and in business administration from California State University, Chico. She also earned a juris doctor from the University of Pacific, McGeorge School of Law, where she received several scholarships and awards - an accomplishment in itself, but even more so considering that she did it while raising four kids and working. Lynn's family could not be more proud, or humbled, by her success and are inspired every day by it. Ever modest, Lynn would say her greatest achievement in life was her family.
After law school, Lynn clerked for the Hon. Loren Dahl at the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the Eastern District of California. She then opened her own firm and practiced law for several years representing indigent clients who often could not afford to pay her, but who she firmly believed had the same right to high-quality legal representation as paying clients. In 2003, Lynn retired to devote more time to her growing family and her other passions in life: rescuing abandoned animals, quilting, gardening, reading and cheering on her beloved Sacramento Kings and Oakland A's.
Lynn is survived by her loving husband of 26 years, Claude Rohwer; eight children (who she nicknamed the "Big Eight"); 19 grandchildren; brothers Bill, Ed, Joel and Mark; cat Jeremy and dogs Bonnie and Cooper; and an extended family of much-loved cousins, aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and friends from every walk of life. Lynn is reunited with her loving parents Joel and Maryann Traylor, and the countless cats and dogs she rescued over the years and who have been waiting patiently to see her again, especially Lynn's guardian angel and faithful companion, Cotton, who was never far behind wherever Lynn went.
A memorial service is scheduled for 2 p.m., Saturday, Nov. 16, at the Unitarian Universalist Church of Davis, 27074 Patwin Road. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Tony LaRussa's Animal Rescue Foundation (ARF) at www.arf.net.
