Margery Mary Macari

1917 - 2012 Obituary Condolences Flowers
Margery Mary (Williams) Macari
July 8, 1917 - March 24, 2012

Margery Mary (Williams) Macari of Woodland has died at age 94. Margery was born in Carbonado, Wash., on July 8, 1917, but had spent more than 50 years in Woodland. She died on Saturday, March 24, 2012.
She worked at The Daily Democrat as a front office receptionist and switchboard operator for 16 years. Margery was a kind and outgoing person who quickly made a connection with people she met. She enjoyed her job at The Democrat and was the perfect person to make that first impression. She proudly served as a volunteer "Pink Lady" at Woodland Memorial Hospital and worked in the gift shop.
Her greatest love was her family. Time spent with "her girls" was always filled with fun and laughter and frequent family gatherings were a source of joy.
The family wishes to thank the entire staff of The Californian where Margery made her home the past five years. Being a resident there enriched her life. The compassionate care and support of Yolo Hospice made for a peaceful transition for a life well lived.
Margery is survived by her daughters, Judy Wilson and husband Daryl of Grass Valley, Donna Jaques and husband Armand of Woodland, and June Paquette and husband David of Lincoln, and son-in-law Bob Currey of Dixon. She is also survived by eight grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband of 46 years, Donald Macari; daughter, Mary Lou Currey; grandson, Thor Jaques; and sister, Phyllis Pooler of Sacramento.
A private graveside service is scheduled for Thursday, March 29, under the direction of Penny Adams, Yolo Hospice chaplain. Kraft Bros. Funeral Directors of Woodland is assisting the family with arrangements. A celebration of life for extended family will be held at a later date. Donations in her memory may be made to Yolo Hospice, 1909 Galileo Court, Suite A, Davis, 95618; or The Californian, 1224 Cottonwood St., Woodland, 95695.
