Oscar Sandes Collins of Madison was born on Nov. 17, 1929, in San Diego. He passed away peacefully surrounded by family at Woodland Memorial Hospital on Saturday, Feb. 23, 2013. Oscar was a well-known businessman and owner of Collins Diesel Repair for 65 years. Aside from his knowledge of business he was known for the love he had for mechanics, building and most of all the love he had for his family especially for his wife of 57 years. Oscar lived for his family and loved spending time and creating memories with his grandchildren.
Oscar is survived by his wife Maria Amo Collins, his children Chayito, Oscar, Misael, Joel, Samuel and Rachel Collins; 21 grandchildren and 39 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by daughter Ruthie Collins Perez in February 2012.
He will be missed and remembered forever.
Viewing will be held from noon to 2 p.m., Thursday, Feb. 28, at the Woodland Funeral Chapel, 305 Cottonwood St. Funeral service and burial will follow at approximately 2:30 p.m., at Monument Hill Memorial Park located at 35036 CR-22, Woodland. A reception will follow at the Madison Town Hall, 28800-28899, Main St., Madison.
