Patricia Ann Douglas
March 17, 1933 - Dec. 23, 2012
Patricia Ann Douglas passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family on Sunday, Dec. 23, 2012, at the age of 79 in Woodland. Patricia was born in Arlington, Neb. She was the seventh child of eight children. Her family moved from Arlington to Oregon in 1944.
Many years later she met her future husband Maxwell Douglas and they made their home in Oregon until moving to California in 1960. They were married for 57 years.
Patricia was a homemaker during her married life and raised a son and daughter. She loved nurturing her family. Patricia was able to see her four grandchildren grow up and become wonderful adults with an additional blessing of two beautiful great grandchildren. She enjoyed her home and took pride in making her home beautiful inside and out. Even when she was away from home she couldn't wait to get back. "Home is where the heart is" was truly the motto she lived by.
Patricia is survived by her husband, Maxwell Douglas of Woodland, son Thomas Hicks and wife Michelle of Woodland, daughter Kathleen Cooper-Schmidt and husband Roger Schmidt of Sandy, Ore.; grandchildren Thomas Hicks II and wife Marisa of Sacramento, Michael Hicks of McKinleyville, Merissa Baller and husband Jeff of Beaverton, Ore., Dallas Cooper and wife Veronica of Sandy, Ore.; and two great grandchildren Dakota Cooper of Sandy, and Thomas Hicks III of Sacramento. She is also survived by her brother Milo Farrens of Yuma, Ariz.
Patricia attended the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses and will be dearly missed by everyone that knew her.
The services will be held at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses at 2 p.m., Saturday, Jan. 19, at 13980 County Road 99W. There will be no graveside services. In lieu of flowers donations can be made in her name to the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society.
