Roberta May Anderson passed away on Tuesday, Feb. 12, 2013, in Woodland from complications of several medical conditions and because she was just plain ready to go. Roberta was born on Dec. 27, 1917, in Bunker Hill, IL to Rev. Henry and Agusta Heyer.

She was the first librarian at Gibson Elementary School and was also active in many community organizations including the Woodland Volunteer Bureau (a predecessor to the Yolo County Food Bank) and the Woodland Public Library Board of Directors. She was a member of the Woodland First Ward of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints where she served in many capacities including Relief Society president. A two-time breast cancer survivor, Roberta was a proud and comforting presence at the Woodland Relay For Life for several years.
Roberta is survived by her daughter Vickie Unruh of Woodland; son Louis Anderson (Wendi) of Phoenix, Ariz.; granddaughters Meghan Miller, Sarah Smith and Emily Chadwick; niece Roberta Hill; nephew L. Robert Hill (Andrea) of Santa Rosa; and her seven great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her loving husband, Robert Anderson; and siblings Wilma Hill and Leroy Heyer
