Bonnie Scheffler Obituary
Bonnie Scheffler
1936 - Oct. 6,2012

We are deeply saddened to announce the passing of Bonnie Scheffler. She was called to her husband's side Saturday, Oct. 6, 2012, after a valiant battle with cancer. She was 73 years old. Born in Lovelock, Nev., and raised in Woodland, Bonnie loved performing in the Woodland High School Band and playing piano. She was honored to be a member of the elite group, ETA GAMMA GOO (the EGGs) who remained close friends throughout their lives. Bonnie was a graduate of UC Davis where she received a degree in home economics, and it was through her roommate and best friend at Davis where she met her future husband, Waldie. Bonnie absolutely adored Waldie and during their 45 years of marriage she remained right by his side supporting and building on every dream that they shared.
In the beginning there was the Country Market and Bar, pool tournaments and raising their children. She went on actively participating in the children's school PTA, Sunshine 4-H Club, and raising birds of all kinds. She was a lifetime member of the RECBC. Bonnie loved her family so very much, not just her immediate family but she opened her home to many, and each and every person was so dearly loved. She had a plethora of friends who adored her. She had a beautiful heart and was gracious and kind to all.
Bonnie was preceded in death by her parents Henry and Alberta Thiers and her husband Waldie Scheffler. She is survived by her children Margaret "Peggy" Scheffler and William "Bill" Scheffler; only grandchildren Callen and Elizabeth Scheffler; sister of Jerry Thiers (Rosalee), Seaside, Ore., Barbara Ruff (John), Santa Rosa, and Ramona Rich, Woodland. She was also sister-in-law to Marianne Wurnitsch (Michael), South San Francisco, and sister-in-law to Larae Rosenberg (Robert, deceased), Salem, Ore. Bonnie is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
Family and friends are invited to a celebration of Bonnie's life at 1 p.m., Saturday, Nov. 10, to be held at 1077 Butler Ave., Santa Rosa, 95407. Private Inurnment. If desired, memorial contributions may be made to Memorial Hospice, 821 Mendocino Ave., Santa Rosa, Calif., 95401. Daniels Chapel of the Roses, (707) 325-3730.
