Christina Rosales
Oct. 16, 1978 - Oct. 16, 2012

Christina Therese Pirruccello Rosales, 34, of West Sacramento, died on Tuesday, Oct. 16, 2012, after a long battle with breast cancer. She was born on Oct. 16, 1978, in Omaha, Neb. She graduated from Christian Brothers High School, Sacramento and Humboldt State University, majoring in English. She married the love of her life, Ryan Shane Rosales, on July 9, 2011. She last worked for Public Health Institute at the California Department of Public Health as a marketing specialist. Prior to this position she worked at the California Department of Education and Creative School Resources.
Christina lived a full, vivacious life, enjoying being a mother most of all. She was so devoted that she had business cards printed stating: "Christina Pirruccello Mom to Ella Mae." Her hobbies included crafting, blogging (, traveling, baking, facebooking and going to dinner with her girlfriends.
She loved baking so much she started a small baking company, Sweetie Cheeks, specializing in cake pops and cupcakes. Christina was a strong, spirited woman, who made friends "just like that" wherever she went. Her smile was infectious, and her little hand clap endeared us all.
Christina is survived by her husband Ryan Rosales, daughter Ella Mae Maxine Rosales, parents Carole and Mike Pirruccello, sister and brother-in-law Annie and Sergio Preciado and their son Mateo, brother Johnny Pirruccello, and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins as well as the many friends she made throughout her life. She was preceded in death by her paternal grandmother Dorothy Pirruccello, and maternal grandparents Ginny and John Davidson.
A celebration of Christina's life will be held at 1 p.m., Sunday, Oct. 28, at the Hotel Woodland, 436 Main St., Woodland. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in Christina's memory to Woodland Healthcare Foundation, 1321 Cottonwood St., Suite 305, Woodland, 95695; or Christian Brothers High School, 4315 Martin Luther King Jr. Blvd., Sacramento, 95820; or .
