Sharon Anderson was born on Nov. 11, 1938, and passed away on Monday, Nov. 5, 2012. Sharon, 73, of Chico, passed away in her home on her walnut ranch in the community of Dayton while surrounded by family. She was born in Woodland to Laverne and Ethel Oeste and graduated from Davis High School in 1956.
Sharon was married to Gerald Anderson who preceded her in death. She is survived by her three children, daughter Lory and husband Dale, son Bill and wife Dora, and daughter Kelly. She is also survived by six grandchildren, Amber, Katee, William, Marcus, Melissa and Jennifer; and great-grandchild Christian with a second great-grandchild on the way.
Sharon moved to Chico in 1956 to attend Chico State University to study nursing during which she met her husband whose family were long-time Chico farmers. Sharon became a homemaker and was well know for her extraordinary passion for cooking and baking, and was known by many for her delicious casseroles and desserts. Sharon enjoyed her days traveling with friends up and down California.
Sharon attended St. John's Catholic Church in Chico where she also taught catechism for 14 years. Sharon also cooked for on-site clergy for many years. She became involved in two quilting guilds, one in Durham and the other in Capay, where she enjoyed visiting with her friends.
A graveside service is scheduled for 2 p.m., Thursday, Nov. 15, at the Dayton Cemetery. Anyone wishing to make a memorial contribution in her name may do so to the
