Pedro Tejeda passed away in Woodland on Thursday, Feb. 14, 2013, at the age of 71. He was born in Mexico on Aug. 26, 1941, to Jose and Julia Tejeda. Pedro was a member of the Holy Rosary Catholic Church in Woodland and he was a carpenter for 40 years.
Mr. Tejeda is survived by his loving wife of 49 years Maria G. Tejeda; his daughters Marta Hurtado (Octavio) and Veronica Tejeda; sons Jose Tejeda, Humberto Tejeda, Sergio Tejeda (Monica) and Gustavo Tejeda; 14 grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren; sisters Ester Juarez, Carmen Puentes, Elvira Barajas and Ernestina Garcia; brothers Antonio Tejeda, Magdalino Tejeda and Juventino Tejeda.
Visitation will be held at the Woodland Family Worship Center, 386 W. Beamer St. in Woodland from 6 to 7:30 p.m., Thursday, Feb. 21. The rosary will be recited at 6:30 p.m. The funeral mass will be held at the Holy Rosary Catholic Church, 305 Walnut St., at 10:30 a.m., Friday, Feb. 22, with interment following at St. Joseph's Cemetery. Arrangements are in the care of the Woodland Funeral Chapel.
