Dec. 11, 1927 - Feb. 18, 2013
After a brave fight with cancer and emphysema, Victor M. Althaus passed away on Monday, Feb. 18, 2013. Vic was born on Dec. 11, 1927, and lived to be 85 years old.
Vic was loved by many, respected by all. He was a proud, honorable, hardworking man. He served in the U.S. Army, was a member of the Masonic Lodge and retired from the state of California, working for Caltrans for many years.
In Vic's words, he was born a Catholic and he died a Catholic. His faith was important to him, even though he wasn't outwardly religious; he carried his faith in his heart every day.
Vic leaves his wife of 65 years, Joan Althaus; four daughters, Vicki Wasielewski, Linda Althaus, Peggy Kramer and husband Chris, and Dorothy Althaus. His family was a priority to him, and he loved them all, including brothers, sisters, grandchildren and great grandchildren. His family and friends will miss him greatly.
A celebration of his life will be scheduled at a future date.
