B.L. Wade was born Sept. 14, 1921 in Smith County, Miss. He went to be with the Lord on Monday, April 8, 2013 at age 91 at Sutter Davis Hospital. B.L. joined the Navy during World War II and was sent to California where he met his wife. After the war he went to work for J Barth Co. He was active in the American Legion and Union Local 162. B.L. was an avid hunter and fisherman.
B.L. is survived by his children Thomas Wade and daughter-in-law Jody, daughter Pamela Pedroia; grandchildren Michelle McLagan and Christopher Koop, Kristin and Ryan Montoya, Laurel and Scott Weeks and Ed and Carrie Wade; great-grandchildren Kelsey McLagan, Kylie and Brodie Koop, Aiden Borchers, Emily and Jacob Wade and Jordyn and Justin Weeks; sisters Lina Mae Maddox, Nonnie and Grady Jones, and Flora Biggs; brothers Orland and Marion Wade and Lee and Sybil Wade and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his spouse Hattiebell Wade; parents Lula Mae and Thomas Wallace Wade; brothers Obie Wade and Cecil Wade; sister Winnie Wade Wren and son-in-law Dave Pedroia.
A memorial service is scheduled for 11 a.m. on Saturday, April 27, at the Celebration Center Church of The Nazarene, 100 Woodland Ave. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the American Legion, PO Box 421820, San Francisco, CA 94142; Citizens Who Care, 409 Lincoln Ave., Woodland, 95695; or a charity of the donors' choice.
