Betsy Louise Noble, a resident of Woodland since 1959, died of cancer at home on Wednesday, Oct. 9, 2013, surrounded by her family. Betsy was born July 14, 1955, in Tacoma, Wash. Betsy graduated from Woodland High School in 1973 and UC Berkeley in 1977. She worked in the insurance industry for her entire working career. Her most challenging position was being the primary caregiver for 10 years for her father, Jim, who passed away earlier this year.
Betsy was an active member of the Woodland Host Lions Club and the Woodland Elks Lodge. She loved cats, the ocean, camping, cooking, reading and going to yard sales.
She is survived by her sister Laurie of Woodland, and Patrick (Eloise) of Utah, nephew Michael of Woodland, aunts Jean Ehmann and Debby Holst, and numerous cousins. She was preceded in death by her parents, Jim and Joan Noble; and sister Lisa Marie Noble.
There will be a memorial service at 2 p.m., Thursday, Oct. 17, at the United Methodist Church, 620 North St., Woodland. Donations in her memory are preferred to Yolo County SPCA.
