James 'Jimmy' Dudgeon
Dec. 22, 1947 - March 18, 2014

James "Jimmy" Dudgeon died Tuesday March 18, 2014 at his home in Woodland. Jim was born in Newton, N.J., on Dec. 22, 1947. He attended Corning Union High School, graduating in 1967. He enlisted in the U.S. Army and served for three years, including one tour in Vietnam. In 1970 he married Jeanne Gonsalves and in 1980 they moved to Woodland with their son Jacob. Jim was employed for 28 years at Delta Oilfield Services. Jim enjoyed hunting, fishing, and motorsports, most especially NASCAR. Jim is survived by his wife of 43 years, Jeanne; his mother Betty Holterman of Newton, New Jersey; his sister Mary Carter (Gary) of Horseshoe Bend, Idaho; and brother Daryl Dudgeon (Lisa) of Twentynine Palms, California. He leaves behind his nieces Tammy Zimmerlee and Elizabeth Dudgeon and his godsons Gabriel Root and Troy Birdeau, Jr. He was preceded in death by his son Jacob John Dudgeon in 1999 and his father James Dudgeon Sr. A military burial will take place at Monument Hill Cemetery on April 2, 2014 at 11 a.m. and a celebration of life with his friends will take place following the burial at the Yolo County Fairgrounds John Rodgers Hall.
