Obituary Condolences

Ann Lowrey passed away after a courageous battle with cancer on Tuesday, Aug. 15, 2006. She died at home where she was surrounded by her loving family.

Ann was born July 21, 1949 in Woodland to Randall "Ike" and Catherine "Katie" Pearson.

During her young life she attended grammar schools in Madison and Esparto. She attended Esparto High School where she was active in field hockey, softball and cheerleading and graduated in 1967. After high school she attended Heald Business College where she received her Associate of Arts in Business Administration.

During her high school years she met and fell in love with William "Bill" Lowrey, whom she married in February of 1970. As their love grew so did their family, they have three children Michelle, Brenda and Tammy and two grandsons Colby and Carter. They were the light of her life.

Ann began her career at the Institute of Governmental Affairs at UCD in 1968. During her nearly 37-year tenure at IGA she served in many capacities, but her favorite duties always involved students. She retired due to her health in December 2005.

Ann was very active in youth programs, always looking out for the best interest of children. She managed several Girls Fast Pitch Softball teams, volunteered with the Woodland FFA chapters and was an active member of the Woodland FFA Boosters. She was always extremely interested in helping young people succeed in finding new fundraising ideas that would benefit the young people.

She is survived by her loving husband Bill, her daughters, Michelle Correa and husband Ray of Winters, Brenda Whitehead and husband Chris and Tammy Gedge and husband Mike, all of Woodland; her grandsons Colby and Carter Whitehead of Woodland; mother Catherine Pearson of Esparto; brother Ted Pearson and wife Pam; her nephew Rob Pearson and wife Summer; her niece Stacy Milliron and husband Matt and two great-nephews Ryan Pearson and Chad Milliron, all of Esparto.

She was preceded in death by her father Randall Pearson in 1993.

A vigil will be held on Friday, Aug. 18 at 7 p.m. at McNary's Chapel, 458 College St., Woodland. Services will be held on Saturday, Aug. 19 at 1 p.m. at St. Martin's Catholic Church in Esparto.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials to Yolo Hospice, P.O. Box 1014, Davis, 95617 or to the charity of choice.

McNary's Chapel is assisting the family with arrangements.
