Arnold M. Colburn

Anold M. Colburn RED HOOK- Arnold M. Colburn, 79, of Red Hook, passed away on Wednesday, Nov. 14, 2012 at the Northern Dutchess Hospital in Rhinebeck. Born Oct. 1, 1933, in Amsterdam, he was the son of the late John and Nellie (Hillier) Colburn. He graduated with the Class of 1951 from Red Hook High School. On May 10, 1980 Arnold married Alice I. Bathrick at St. John's Reformed Church, Upper Red Hook. She survives at home in Red Hook. For many years Arnold was the owner, operator and landlord of Colburn Mobile Home Park and of Colburn Oil, both in Red Hook. Arnold held membership in many organizations in the Red Hook community, including: St. John's Reformed Church where he was a past Deacon and Elder, the Red Hook/ Rhinebeck Elks Lodge #2022, BPOE of which he was a charter member, the Red Hook Chamber of Commerce, a past member of the Red Hook Rotary Club and a life member of the Friends of Elmendorph. In addition to his loving wife, Arnold is survived by his two daughters Deborah Kelly of Plattsburgh, NY and Cynthia Claxton of Lansing, Mich., his stepson Todd (Marian) Abrahams of Red Hook, his brother Joseph (Shirley) Colburn of Red Hook, nine grandchildren: Caroline Kelly, Victoria Kelly, Mathias Kelly, Nathanial Kelly, Seth Kelly, Chelsea Claxton, Benjamin Abrahams, Shelby Morgan and Keith Morgan, five great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild. He was predeceased by his brothers, John and Wilbur Colburn. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Monday, Nov. 19th, at St. John's Reformed Church, Red Hook, Old Post Road, Upper Red Hook. The Rev. Eric Titus will officiate. There will be no calling hours. Memorial donations may be made in Arnold's memory to St. John's Reformed Church, 126 Old Post Rd, Red Hook, 12571.
