Clifford Allen Scism SUMMERVILLE, S.C.- Clifford Allen Scism, 76, of Summerville, S.C., passed away Nov. 8, 2013. Born in Rhinebeck, N.Y., he was the son of the late Walter and Mildred Mabie Scism. Clifford owned and operated service stations in Barrytown and Red Hook, N.Y. He retired from Red Hook Central Schools as a mechanic and substitute bus driver. Mr. Scism was a member of the Red Hook Car Club and Charleston Lowcountry AACA. In his earlier years he was a stock car driver. He is survived by his long time partner, Gloria Johnson of the home; two sons, Michael Scism and wife Tegan of Saugerties, N.Y. and David Notarnicola and wife Rosa of Rhinebeck, N.Y.; three sisters, Gladys Wofford and husband Mike of Ocala, Fla., Dorothy Cole of Poughkeepsie, N.Y. and Ethel Simmons of Hudson, N.Y.; and brother, Chester Scism and wife Rose Ann of Hudson, N.Y.. Clifford is also survived by his two grandchildren, Alyssa and Sam Notarnicola. Mr. Scism was predeceased by his parents; sister, Anna Mae Ackert; and two brothers, Michael Scism and Walter Scism. Graveside services will be held Saturday at 11 a.m. in the St. Pauls Luthern Cemetery on Fisk Street, Red Hook, N.Y.
