Nicholas P. Carl, Sr. KINGSTON - Nicholas P. Carl, Sr. 87 of Wrentham Street Kingston, died Thursday Feb. 27, 2014 at home. He was born July 25, 1926 in Kingston, the son of the late Charles V. Carl and Elizabeth Tresaloni Carl. He was predeceased by his wife, Betty (Krom) Carl in 2007. A lifelong resident of Kingston, Mr. Carl graduated from the Kingston High School in 1943. He was a veteran of World War II
serving in the United States Navy
from 1944 to 1946. He received a bachelor’s degree from Ryder College. For over thirty years, with his wife and family, Mr. Carl owned and operated the Retreat Restaurant and Nick Carl’s Upstairs Downstairs on Route 28 until his retirement in 1986. Surviving are his three sons, Dr. Mark Carl and his wife Debbie of Va., Nicholas Carl, Jr. and his companion Jeannie Serching, Vincent Carl and his wife Lori of Kingston; two daughters, Kim Carl and Beth Carl both of Kingston; two sisters, Joan B. Carter of Kingston and Patricia “Aunt Pat” Conlon of Milton; six grandchildren, Jennifer Deitz, Kristine Carl, Anthony Carl and Matthew Carl all of Kingston, Stephanie Carl and Brian Carl of Virginia. The Carl family will receive friends at the funeral home on Monday from 4 to 8 p.m. A funeral procession will form Tuesday 9 a.m. at the funeral home. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 10 a.m. at Saint Joseph’s Church. Entombment in Wiltwyck Community Mausoleum.
