Theodore F. Pade

Theodore F. Pade ULSTER PARK- Theodore F. ‘Ted’ Pade, age 73, of Ulster Park, died Tuesday, March 11, 2014, at the HealthAlliance (Benedictine) Hospital in Kingston. Born April 28, 1940 in Sellersville, Pa., he was the son of the late Theodore and E. Pauline (Underkoffler) Pade. Ted graduated from the University of Miami at Oxford, Ohio with an Electrical Engineering degree. He moved to Ulster County when he accepted a job with IBM Kingston. He was a member of the IBM Quarter Century Club and worked there until his retirement in 1992. It was at IBM that he met his wife, Joyce Van Voorhis, and they were married for 48 years. After living in Woodstock for 41 years, they moved to Ulster Park in 2008. Ted was a member of the Mid Hudson Computer User Group Club, Reformed Church of Port Ewen and his Tuesday lunch group. He loved keeping in touch with friends on the computer and spent many hours gardening. Most of all he enjoyed spending time with his four grandchildren. Survivors include his wife, Joyce; a daughter, Paula Van Aken and her husband Matthew, of Ulster Park; a son, Neil Pade and his wife Julie, of Newington, Conn.; and his beloved grandchildren who called him, “Papa,” Kayla Van Aken, Laura Van Aken, Charlie Pade and Natalie Pade. A service will begin at 11:30 a.m. Monday, at the Gilpatric-VanVliet Funeral Home, 339 Broadway, Ulster Park, Rev. Charles E. Stickley officiating. Friends will be received at the funeral home prior to the service from 10 to 11:30 a.m. A private burial will be held at the St. Remy Cemetery at a later date.
