Joyce M. Metcalf STONE RIDGE - Joyce M. Metcalf, 79, of Stone Ridge, passed away Monday Dec. 23, 2013 at Albany Medical Center. Joyce was born on Staten Island Aug. 10, 1934. She graduated from Curtis High School and Drake Business School in Staten Island. Joyce worked at Fairchild Publications in N.Y.C. until relocating to Ulster County in 1969. She worked in real estate, merchandising, and as a dental assistant for Dr. Walter Pokowitz in Rosendale. Joyce helped form the Town of Rochester Recreation Center and the Kerhonkson Fire Dept. Ladies Auxilary. She was active in the PTA and Cub Scouts. Joyce belonged to the New Paltz VFW Post #8645 Ladies Auxilary and Rosendale - Tillson Post 1219 American Legion Ladies Auxiliary. She was also a member of the following groups; Rosendale and Stone Ridge Senior Citizens, Red Hats, and the Rosendale Rosettas. Joyce had been an avid dancer, rollerskater dancer, waterskier, and horseback rider. She appreciated fine dining and had enjoyed traveling with her husband Clive Metcalf who died previously. She is survived by her son Steven Feith and his wife Patricia of Olivebridge, her daughter Kim Feith-Conway of Monticello, her two step-daughters Joanne Mizerak and her husband Mark of Poughkeepsie, and Stephanie Walter of Fla., Her brother Roger Houseman of Luguna Woods, Calif., and several nieces, nephews, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. A Celebration of Joyce’s beautiful life will be in the spring of 2014 and will be announced at a later date. Cremation arrangements were private under the care of the George J.
