Philip Roy Conklin KERHONKSON- Philip Roy Conklin a lifelong resident of Kerhonkson passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday, March 6, 2013, at the Ellenville Regional Hospital. He was 59 years old. Philip was born on June 26, 1953 in Ellenville; he was the son of the late Roy and Earla (Davis) Conklin. Philip attended Rondout Valley Schools and furthered his education at Ulster Community College where he became a certified plumbing and heating specialist. He started his own business, Philip Roy Conklin and sons Plumbing and Heating and provided Kerhonkson and the surrounding communities with exceptional service for over 30 years. Philip enjoyed traveling whether it was in his car or on his motorcycle. One of his favorite destinations was Maine where he enjoyed fishing. Philip liked to live off his land and during the late winter months he could be found boiling sap to make maple syrup. He also enjoyed canning throughout the year and would willingly share his creations with his family and friends. Mr. Conklin was an extraordinary hardworking man who will be deeply missed by all the people who knew him. Philip is survived by his fiancé, Christine Rathbone; his three sons, Jared Conklin and his companion Roxanne, Brandon Conklin and his companion Brianna, their mother, Kathleen Conklin and Codi Conklin and his mother Teri Gray; his stepson, Brett Thomas; his brother Lorin Conklin and his wife Carol; his grandchildren, Rocco, Arianna and Evan; and many friends, cousins, and loyal customers. Visiting will be held on Monday, March 11, 2013 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at H.B. Humiston Funeral Home, 30 42nd Street, Kerhonkson. A celebration of his life is scheduled for Tuesday at 10 a.m. at the funeral home. Burial will follow at Accord Rural Cemetery. There will be a gathering for friends and family at the
