Albert Eugene Nirri KINGSTON- "My grandfather, Albert Eugene Nirri, 84, who was born at 168 1st Avenue in Kingston, on Sept. 24, 1927, died Saturday June 2, 2012, at the Ferncliff Nursing Home in Rhinebeck." His grandson James continues," He taught me history, how to shoot, how to fish, model railroading, and how to live my life as a good, productive, and patriotic person." A native and lifelong resident, he was the son of the late Alexander and Josephine Nirri. Gene was a World War II Army Veteran who served with honor and distinction. He was a technician for 35 years with the Kingston IBM, and was a member of the Quarter Century Club. Surviving are his son-in-law Kenneth Darmstadt; granddaughter Renee; grandson James and his wife Ruby; and great-grandson Jake Michael Darmstadt. He was predeceased by his wives, Loretta Wenzel Nirri, Barbara Wilde Nirri; and his daughter, Michele Darmstadt, in 2001. His funeral procession will form on Friday at 9 a.m. at the Joseph V. Leahy Funeral Home, 27 Smith Ave., Kingston, thence to the Immaculate Conception Church where at 10 a.m. a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated. Burial with military honors in Calvary Cemetery. The family would like to extend its gratitude to all who assisted Gene, including Jerry and Sylvia, as well as the 5th floor staff at Ferncliff. Friends will be received on Thursday from 7 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home.
