Andrea Marie Truden

Andrea Marie Truden WOODSTOCK- Andrea Marie Truden, 68, of Studio Lane, Woodstock, N.Y. died on Monday, Nov. 7, 2011 at the Kingston Hospital. Andrea was born in Nashville, Tenn. on July 26, 1943, the daughter of the late Frank and Ann (Turkovich) Truden. In 1968, she moved to New York City to study acting. She appeared in many films including "The Way We Were" and "Forty Carats". Known worldwide as "Andrea True", she is best recognized for the disco hit "More, More, More" released in 1976 by the "Andrea True Connection". "More, More, More" became a favorite in discos and nightclubs, and is often heard on radio and TV today. In early 1977, she released the single "N.Y. You Got Me Dancing" from her follow-up album, White Witch, which became Andrea's second biggest hit. A year later, in 1978, she had a second hit with "What's Your Name, What's Your Number". In 1980, she released her third and final album, War Machine. In July 2002 she was interviewed for the documentary "Disco Divas: One Hit Wonders" on VH1. She is quoted as saying: "I want to be remembered as someone who brought people joy with my music". Cremation arrangements for Andrea were placed in the care of the Gilpatric-VanVliet Funeral Home, 27 Smith Avenue, Kingston, N.Y.
