Angela M. (McGowan) Doyle PORT EWEN-Angela M. (McGowan) Doyle, 85, of Green St., Port Ewen, died Tuesday morning, July 30, 2013 at Archcare at Ferncliff, Rhinebeck. Angela was born in Kingston on Feb. 20, 1928, a daughter of the late Edward and Melvina (Laundry) McGowan. Angela was a devoted parishioner of the Church of the Presentation of the Blessed Virgin Mary in Port Ewen, and for many years was employed as a secretary for the Kingston City School District, a career she truly enjoyed. She enjoyed crossword puzzles, reading, and socializing, and most of all she cherished her family and her many friends. She is survived by: two daughters, Judy Doyle of Hyde Park and her dear friend Rick Warren of Hudson, and Barbara Doyle and her companion George Schryver of Port Ewen; one sister, Mary Ann McDermott of town of Ulster; two brothers-in-law, Angus Doyle and his wife Betty of Ravena, and Matthew Doyle and his wife Angelina of New Paltz; one sister-in-law, Elma Morris of Pampa, Texas; stepsister, Theresa Donnelly of town of Ulster; three grandchildren, Max Turner of Buffalo, Byron and Angela Doyle of Port Ewen; and a cousin, Mary Elizabeth Morris of Hyde Park. She is predeceased by two sisters, Margaret Walker and Edwina Meier. , and her husband, the late B. Robert Doyle, Jr. who died in 1961. Many nieces, nephews and cousins also survive. Cremation service arrangements are under the care of the Gilpatric-VanVliet Funeral Home, 339 Broadway, Ulster Park. A memorial service will be held at 6:30 p.m. Friday at the funeral home, Deacon Marc Fanelli of the Church of the Presentation of the Blessed Virgin Mary will officiate. Angela's family will receive friends prior to the service from 4 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. Cremation held at Wiltwyck Crematory, Kingston. Inurnment at St. Mary's Cemetery, Kingston will be private.
