Arlene R. Friedman HIGH FALLS- Arlene R. Friedman, 82, of Bruceville Road, died Monday July 1, 2013 at HealthAlliance Hospital Broadway Campus. She was born in Walden Oct. 12, 1930 a daughter of the late Otis and Ruth McFeeters Morse. She and her husband, Alfred Friedman moved to High Falls in 1956. Together they were in the process of starting a church in High Falls when the High Falls Reformed Church reopened in 1962. Arlene became passionately involved, with the Women's Guild, as a Sunday School Teacher, and working fundraiser's, including many suppers and Christmas Bazaars. Most of all, Arlene enjoyed her grandchildren, Tom and Nancy. She regularly took them on beach vacations in North Carolina. She also knitted sweaters for all her grand and great-grandchildren. She loved her family and her many friends in the High Falls area. She is survived by her husband, Alfred Friedman whom she married Nov. 18, 1951 in the Walden Reformed Church, two daughters, Patricia Carroll and her husband Raymond of Tillson, Sharon Miller and her companion, Michael Loeffler of Kingston, a brother, John Morse and his wife Marcia of Poughkeepsie, a brother-in-law, Martin Unger of Liberty. Also survived by grandchildren, Thomas Carroll and his wife Lisa of Ellenville, Nancy Hendrickson and her husband Matthew of Livingston Manor, great- grandchildren Kyle and Joshua Hendrickson, and Shelby and Samantha Carroll. Also survived by several nieces, nephews and cousins. Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Friday at the George J. Moylan Funeral Home Inc., 2053 Route 32, Rosendale. Rev. Aaron Schulte will officiate. Interment will be in Rosendale Plains Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home Friday after 10 a.m. prior to the service.
