Audrey Burke Schultz POUGHKEEPSIE- Audrey Burke Schultz, 79, formally of 140 Meadow Lane, Poughkepsie, passed away peacefully on Monday, Nov. 12, 2012 in Meriden, Conn. with her loving family at her side after a long illness. Born Jan. 15, 1933 in Amsterdam, she was the daughter of the late Willard and Ruth [Leatherbee] Burke of Kingston. Audrey was a graduate of Kingston High School and the University at Albany. On Dec. 18, 1954 Audrey married Richard W. Schultz in Kingston. He preceded her in death on May 26, 2001. They were married 47 years. Audrey was a resident of Poughkeepsie for over 40 years. She was a member of the Daughters of the American Revolution, Antique Study Club, and Vanderbilt Garden Assoc. for many years. She was avid gardener and played a mean hand of bridge. She was also very fortunate to have enjoyed many years of summering on Cape Cod with her family. Audrey is survived by her sister, Marilyn Bouton of Kingston; three children and their spouses, Scott Schultz of Lebanon Conn., Toby Schultz of Amsterdam, daughter, Diane Slater of Raliegh N.C.; five grandchildren; nieces and nephews. The family would also like to extend a special thank you to staff of The Village At Kensington Place, in Meriden, Conn., for there loving care they gave Audrey and her family. A memorial service is planned for next spring in Milton, Mass. where she will be laid to rest. Contributions in memory of Audrey my be made to your local Alzheimer's Association.
