Carmela Violetta Garrison SAUGERTIES- Carmela Violetta Garrison, 57, of Cole Bank Road, died Thursday, April 4, 2013, at home surrounded by loving family and friends. Born Jan. 20, 1956 in Brooklyn, she was the daughter of the late Arthur and Lena Russo Violetta. Carmela was a member of the Columbiettes Council #4536 and the Ridge Runners Rod & Gun Club. A Parishioner of St. John the Evangelist Church, she served as lector and was an active member of the church's Altar Rosary Society. Carmela was also a C.C.D. teacher and a participant in various prayer groups. Survivors include her sons, Christopher and Jarrett Garrison, of Saugerties; her brother, Arthur Violetta, Jr. of Staten Island; her sister and brother-in-law, LeeAnn and husband Steven Okpych of Long Island; her mother-in-law, Charlotte Garrison of Saugerties; her sister-in-law, Susan and husband Wayne Miller of Saugerties; her sister-in-law, Pamela Garrison of Palenville; her sister-in-law, Sheila and husband Philip DeCicco of Kingston; and her brother-in-law, Charles Gampero of Long Island. Many loving nieces and nephews also survive her. Carmela was predeceased by her husband, Robert Garrison, in 2003; her sister, Philomena Gampero; her brother-in-law, Daniel Wamboldt; her sister and brother-in-law, Angelina and Richard Gutheil; and baby, Philip DeCicco. Her Funeral Procession will form at 9:15 a.m. on Tuesday at the Seamon-Wilsey Funeral Home, Inc., corner of John and Lafayette Sts. Thence to St. John the Evangelist where, at 10 a.m., a Mass of Christian Burial will be offered. Internment will follow in Blue Mountain Cemetery.
