Dear Ray and JoAnn, I am heartbroken (at this late date) to hear of the death of your precious Daughter. From what I read she was a truly cared for, accomplished, beautiful, and loving young lady who is deeply missed. I'm certain that her great-great-grandfather, Carmen, and her grandfather, Carmen are smiling with her in heaven. I hope you will often feel the warmth of those smiles. I am Ray's father's (Carmen) first cousin but have been out of touch for some time. It is sad that life so often separates from those we love. I am sending you my deepest condolences and will keep you in my prayers. - Carole Congelli Martin

Our deepest condolences to the congelli family. I never had the honor of meeting your daughter. My husband is a custodian at MHS and my son a senior. You may know my son Trevor. He was Carmens male counterpart in the class portraits that hung in the lobby. When they told me she was sick i prayed for her every night. My prayers were answered as all prayers are. Just not what i had asked for. I would ask myself why God didn't answer my prayers the way i wanted, but, i already know the answer. It's gods will for whatever reason. One day we too shall have the answers. Until you meet with our lord and savior and your precious child again, I ask our lord god, for comfort for the family and friends left behind.

My sincere condolences on your devastating loss. The loss of a child is like no other. Losing a child to cancer is like no other. I lost my son to neuroblastoma five years ago. So I know your pain. Your daughter put up an amazing fight and is now at peace. There really are no words of comfort at this time. Just know you are not alone.

To the Congelli Family,

Although I never met your daughter, please know that she is truly an inspiration to all. We sometimes ask "why?", and it is far beyond our comprehension why these things happen, but she showed such strength, courage and grace through it all. Our children are gifts to us from God and are only on loan to us. Keep your faith and believe that Carmen's purpose here in this life has been accomplished not to our plans but HIS plans. She has drawn a community together, has made us hold our children closer, has given us the strength to go on in our daily lives, and has made us realize how precious life really is. She will live on forever in a place where we all long to stive to get to. May God give you the comfort of His love and his Blessings to help you through this most difficult time.

Ray and JoAnn,

Carmen was truly an amazing woman and of course softball player. Getting to know her in the depths of the Grand Canyon was one of the most inspirational and memorable times of my life. She will live on in spirit in everyones hearts and memories. Know that my family was touched by your family and that we are praying for you all. RIP Carmen... next time I go to the Grand Canyon I know you will be sitting on the front of that boat laughing and holding on tight to that rope and enjoying every moment! Love ya girl!
