Carol Mae Beaver ULSTER PARK- Carol Mae Beaver, 73, of River Rd., Ulster Park, died Sunday, Nov. 10, 2013, at home after a long battle with Alzheimer’s disease. She was born in Kingston, on Oct. 18, 1940, a daughter of the late Raymond and Carrie (Secor) DuBois. On April 17, 1960 at the Church of the Presentation of the Blessed Virgin Mary, she married Paul “Jerry’’ G. Beaver, who died on Dec. 1, 2009. Carol was employed as an LPN for over 40 years, working in various locations including Benedictine Hospital, Holy Cross School in Rhinebeck, and Mother Cabrini in West Park. She was a member of Woodstock Harley Owners Group (H. O. G.), Catskill Mountain Riders, and a life member of the Port Ewen Fire Dept. Ladies Auxiliary. She enjoyed vacationing, cruises and enjoying the view of the Hudson River from her home’s deck. She is survived by one daughter, Linda LaTorre and her husband Fred, and two grandchildren, Anthony and Nicholas LaTorre, both of Port Ewen. she was predeceased by one brother, Alva DuBois. The funeral procession will form 9 a.m., Thursday, from the Gilpatric-VanVliet Funeral Home, 339 Broadway, Ulster Park, thence to Church of the Presentation of the Blessed Virgin, Port Ewen, where the Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m., Rev. Carl D. Johnson, celebrant. Burial will follow at St. Mary’s Cemetery. Carol’s family will receive friends at the funeral home on Wednesday from 1 to 3 p.m., and 5 to 7 p.m. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to: Ulster County SPCA, 20 Wiedy Rd, Kingston, N.Y., 12401.
