Eleanor (Loughlin) Kurtz ESOPUS- Eleanor (Loughlin) Kurtz, 98, of Esopus, passed away Friday, March 15, 2013, at home with her family by her side. She was born March 9, 1915 in Jersey City, N.J., to the late Patrick and Mary (McArdle) Loughlin. She was married to her loving husband of 70 years, Francis J. Kurtz. Eleanor worked for Lord & Taylor in Manhattan. She was a parishioner of Sacred Heart Roman Catholic Church in Esopus where she was very active. She devoted her time to many organizations including Ulster County Right to Life, Ulster County 4H, and Esopus Fire Department Ladies Auxiliary. In the 1950's she wrote a column entitled ‘Esopus News' for the Kingston Daily Freeman. In addition to her husband she is survived by her daughters: Maria Omura and her husband Lawrence of Connelly, Nancy Lancer of Kingston; 16 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; as well as many nieces and nephews. She is also survived by her loving care giver Marcia Hanson. In addition to her parents she is predeceased by her siblings: Francis, James, John, Rita, Pat, her twin sister Mildred, May, Lucy, and Eugene. Entrusted to the care of Luke Keyser of Keyser Funeral & Cremation Service, 326 Albany Avenue, Kingston. A mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at Sacred Heart Roman Catholic Church in Esopus on Tuesday at 11 a.m. Burial will follow in St. Peter's Cemetery, Rosendale. The family suggests in lieu of flowers memorial contributions be made to NYS Right to Life, 41 State Street, Suite M-100, Albany, N.Y., 12207 or Town of Esopus Volunteer Ambulance Squad, P.O.
