Elizabeth K. (Alden) Comeau RED HOOK - Elizabeth K. (Alden) Comeau, passed away peacefully with family at her side on Thursday, May 15, 2014. She was born in Boston, Mass. on Sept. 1, 1932 to the late Robert and Ellen (Mannix) Alden of Whitman, Mass. She is survived by her husband of 57 years, Basile (Perry) Comeau of Red Hook, a brother Robert K. Alden, Jr. of Kingston, her daughters; Catherine Strizzi of Latham, N.Y., Karen M. Kelly of Stone Ridge, and Anne Marie Comeau of Plymouth, Vt. and her two sons; Michael Comeau of Harwich, N.Y. and Joseph Comeau of Morehead City, N.C., along with 12 grandchildren, six great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by a brother, Thomas M. Alden. Elizabeth was a 1949 graduate of Whitman, MA High School and a graduate of Catherine Laboure (Carney) School of Nursing in Dorchester, Mass. She then went on to raise her family in Red Hook. Elizabeth also worked in real estate and had many hobbies such as sewing, crafts, history and being an avid reader. There will be a private memorial held at a family member’s home. Interment will be held at a later date at St. James Cemetery in Whitman, Mass. In lieu of flowers, the family ask that memorial donations be made to the Alzheimer’s Association, Hudson Valley NY Chapter, 2 Jefferson Plaza, Suite 103, Poughkeepsie, N.Y. 12601-4060.
