Frederick W. ‘Freddy' Hommel, Jr. SAWKILL- Frederick W. “Freddy” Hommel, Jr., 36, of Sawkill Road, died Sunday, June 23, 2013 at Albany Medical Center. Freddy was born in Kingston on Sept. 30, 1976, a son of Frederick W. Hommel, Sr., and the late Frances J. (Dixon) Hommel who died Feb. 1, 2012. Having spent time in the National Guard, Freddy was a kind, friendly, outgoing and caring person who would capture the hearts of everyone around him. He loved going on adventures, exploring, and swimming in Big Deep. He had a love for all animals, especially his beloved dog, Pascha, and his cats Sheeba and Boo Boo. He would often bring home stray animals. He loved Dunkin Donuts coffee and enjoyed cooking. Most of all, he was protective and loyal to the people he loved. Freddy is survived by his father, Frederick W. Hommel, Sr. of Sawkill, one sister, Dr. Kaycie Kimberlin and her husband Dr. Dale Kimberlin of Kingston, his grandfather, Frederick C. Hommel of Kingston, one brother, Dunaven J. Hommel of Sawkill, one nephew, Jett Kimberlin and one niece Glory Kimberlin, both of Kingston. Many aunts, uncles, cousins and friends also survive. In addition to his mother, he is predeceased by his grandparents, Beatrice and John Dixon, Edna Green, and Beverly Hommel. Visitation will be held at His Word Revealed Church, 205 State Route 28 on Saturday where Freddy's family will receive friends from 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. A Funeral Service will follow at 2:00 p.m., Pastor Theodore VanDyke, celebrant. Cremation will be private. Arrangements are under the care of the Gilpatric-VanVliet Funeral Home, 339 Broadway, Ulster Park.
