Obituary Condolences

Iva Frances (Dederick) Wolven CATSKILL- Iva Frances (Dederick) Wolven, long time Catskill resident passed away peacefully at The Pines Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, Catskill, New York on Dec. 14, 2012 She was born Aug. 17, 1925 in Saugerties, the daughter of Nellie (Layton) and Irwin Dederick Iva worked as a nurse's aide at Greene County Memorial Hospital in Catskill, for 28 years. Prior to being a nurse's aide she worked at Irving School on Thompson Street in Catskill. She was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary Post 110 and VFW Ladies Auxiliary Post 770 and The DAR. Iva was a long time member of the Congregational Church in Saugerties. She also was a participant of the First Reformed Church on Main Street in Catskill. Oct. 25, 1945 she married Lewis E Wolven of Quarryville, NY, who predeceased her on April 9, 1998. She was also predeceased by a sister Jean Koehn of Fairview, Oklahoma. Iva was a loving Mother, Grandmother, Aunt, Mother-in-Law, Sister-in-Law and Gracious Friend. Iva will always be remembered for her kindness and loving heart to anyone that entered her door. She is survived by a daughter, Gail and her husband Louis LaMont of Claverack, NY , a granddaughter Katania Hall of Catskill; son Barry and his wife Marie of Ragley, Louisiana; two grandsons; Jeffrey Wolven, Cedar Hill, TX and Barry “Michael” Wolven and his wife Tammy of Flower Mound, TX; great granddaughter Tiffany Reann of Flower Mound Texas; a brother-in-law, Frank Koehn of Oklahoma and beloved friends, Donald and Geraldine Sutton and family of Greenville, NY and Mrs. Clarice Millspaugh as well as many nieces, nephews and cousins. Calling hours will be Tuesday, Dec. 18 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at Millspaugh Camerato Funeral Home, 139 Jefferson Heights Catskill, NY A service will be held on Wednesday, Dec. 19 at 11:00 a.m. at the Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Mount View Cemetery in Saugerties, NY . The family requests that memorial donations be made to the Activity Department c/o The Pines at Catskill Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, Jefferson Heights Catskill, NY 12414.
