Jacqueline L. Alterio

Jacqueline L. Alterio HIGHLAND- Jacqueline L. Alterio, 60, passed away Saturday, Sept. 10, 2011 at Benedictine Hospital. Born Nov. 23, 1950 in Binghamton, she was the daughter of Richard and Elizabeth DeNio Norton and had resided in West Hurley for 15 years until moving to Highland. Married on Nov. 16, 1968 to the late Anthony Alterio, Jackie was co-owner of Lith Art Press in Woodstock from 1986 to 2002. She was on the Board of the Onteora Sports Fans Association and was a strong supporter of the Onteora School system and programs that benefited the community, including Safe Ride. She was a volunteer at the soup kitchen in Woodstock and a member of St. John's Roman Catholic Church in West Hurley. Surviving in addition to her parents of Shalimar, Fla., are two sons, David of Woodstock and Daniel Alterio of East Islip; a daughter, Dina Sackal of Mt. Marion; a sister, Rosemarie Cowan of Ballinger, Texas; and four grandchildren, Jeffrey and Elizabeth Sackal and Griffin and Gabriella Alterio. Friends may call at Lasher Funeral Home, Inc., 100 Tinker Street, Woodstock, Wednesday, 10 to 10:45 a.m. At 11 a.m. a Mass of Christian Burial will be sung at St. John's Church, West Hurley.
