Jennifer Jay VanLoan Obituary
ULSTER PARK - It is with the heaviest of heart that loving husband Kevin G. Clarke, and loving parents Jay and Nancy (Topp) Van Loan announce the sudden passing of their beloved daughter Jennifer Jay Van Loan, 40, and her unborn infant Trevor J. Clarke, on Sunday June 2, 2013 at HealthAlliance, Broadway Campus. Jennifer was born in Kingston on Oct. 12, 1972, and was a resident of Port Ewen, before moving to Hunter, for ten years to live with her husband Kevin. Most recently she and Kevin resided in Ulster Park seeking to purchase a home in the local area. Proudly earning a Doctoral degree, she considered herself a professional student. She was a graduate of John A. Coleman High School class of 1990, Marist College, and the University at Albany. She enjoyed skiing, gardening and boating on the Hudson, and she cherished spending time with her husband Kevin, her family, and her many friends. She held a passion for the sport of wild turkey hunting, and traveled the country with her husband to do so. Most of anything, Jennifer was a proud mom to be. Her pregnancy was overwhelming news to everyone, especially her husband, and her parents, her compassion, her devotion and dedication to her unborn son was unfaltering. In addition to her husband and parents, she is survived by three uncles, Donald Van Loan and his wife Joan of Port Ewen, Jennifer's godfather, Vincent Van Loan and Shireen Every of Ulster Park, and Peter Van Loan and his wife Joan of Kingston, three aunts, Margaret “Peggy” Wayne and her husband Michael of Round Rock, Texas, Mary Tiano of Rhinebeck, and Bernice Barnes of Kingston. She is predeceased by one uncle, Edward Van Loan. Arrangements are under the care of the Gilpatric-VanVliet Funeral Home, 339 Broadway, Ulster Park. The procession will form 9 a.m. Friday at the funeral home, thence to Presentation Church of the Blessed Virgin Mary, Port Ewen where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m., Rev. Carl D. Johnson celebrant. Friends will be received at the funeral home from 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday. Interment will follow at Montrepose Cemetery, Kingston.
