Joseph J. Riccardi STATEN ISLAND- Joseph J. Riccardi passed away March 18, 2013 in Staten Island N.Y. Born in Brooklyn, NY Mr. Riccardi was a retired N.Y. City Firefighter and resided in Saugerties. With a long established devotion to public service Mr. Riccardi was a field radio operator with the Marines, he then began his service with the New York City Fire Department. He was active with the Red Cross and was a member of the D.A.R.T. Team, a disaster response unit. He was a member of the American Legion Post 1748. Currently Mr. Riccardi was serving as the Vice President of the Glen Erle Association. Surviving are his wife Dorothy (nee Wallace), Marianna Giallanza (Tom), Peter (Michelle), Maria Caicedo (David). He is a cherished grandfather of six granddaughters. Wake services will be held at the Martin Hughes FH 530 Narrows Road South Staten Island, NY Wednesday and Thursday from 2 to 4 & 7 to 9 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will take place Friday 9:45 a.m. at Mary Queen of Heaven Church in Brooklyn and committal will follow in Long Island National Cemetery in Pinelawn, N.Y.
