Judge Raymond Freer LeFever BLOOMINGTON- Judge Raymond Freer LeFever, 93, of Main St., died Sunday Dec. 16, 2012 at the Kingston Hospital. He was born in Bloomington Sept. 11, 1919 a son of the late Edwin and Ethel Releyea LeFever. He was a lifetime resident of the Town of Rosendale and was a graduate of Kingston High School. He had been employed with IBM in Kingston until his retirement in 1984. Judge LeFever completed many Magistrates Training Courses conducted by the Judicial Conference of the State of New York. He served 22 years as Town Justice and Councilman in the Town of Rosendale. He also served as Senior Elder of the United Reformed Church of Rosendale, past Chairmain of Cancer Drive in Rosendale, past member of the Board of Managers of Warwick Estates, Warwick, NY, past Trustee and President of the Bloomingdale Cemetery Association, The Rip Van Winkle Boy Scout Council, Ulster County Magistrates Association and had served as Secretary, New York State Magistrates Association, the Rosendale Library Association, Rosendale Republican Club, Huguenot Historical Society, Ulster County Historical Society, former Chairman Rosendale Highway Committee and former Chairman of the Rosendale Environmental Committee. He was a life member of the Bloomington Fire Department where he previously served as Secretary and a lieutenant. He is survived by his wife, Rose Feltman LeFever, a daughter Mary Jane Welsek and her husband John of Ridgefield Park, NJ, a son Fred LeFever and his wife Ruth of Bloomington, Grandchildren, Dawn Welsek-DePalma and her companion Chris Couturier of Ridgefield Park, NJ, Jeff Welsek , also of Ridgefield Park, Amanda Jean Quick and husband Alvin of Kingston, Michael LeFever and wife Johanna of Syracuse. Great Grandchildren, Tyler Welsek, Samantha Welsek, Nicole DePalma and Kaitlin DePalma all of Ridgefield Park, NJ. Also survived by several nephews and a niece. His funeral service will be 11 a.m. Friday at the United Reformed Church in Bloomington. Rev. Stephen Hanson and Rev. Nickolas Miles will officiate. Interment will be in Riverview Cemetery, Port Ewen. Friends may call Thursday 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 PM at the George J. Moylan Funeral Home Inc., 2053 Rt. 32, Rosendale.
