Leonard A. Bovee Obituary
Leonard A. Bovee, Sr. TOWN OF ULSTER- Leonard A. Bovee, Sr., 69, of Alder Court, Town of Ulster, died Friday, Nov. 29, 2013, at home. Born Aug. 20, 1944 in Kingston, he was the son of the late Ruth (Sickler) Bovee. Leonard served in the U.S. Army during the Viet Nam era from 1961 to 1964. He was employed as the Composing Room Foreman at the Kingston Daily Freeman retiring after 44 years. Len enjoyed to work around the outside of the house meticulously caring for the lawn and grounds. Always well attired, he had a great sense of humor and was a true friend to many. Surviving are his children, Leonard A. Bovee, Jr. of the Town of Ulster, Jeffrey Bovee of Woodstock, Jennifer Sackett of Gardiner and Marcie Dillon and her husband Travis of the Town of Ulster; his grandchildren, Lily and Luke Sackett, Aidan and Julian Bovee; and his long-time best friends, Eileen Bovee and Deborah Bovee. Many nieces and nephews also survive. A brother, Lester Bovee died previously. Cremation and memorial arrangements are under the guidance of the Joseph V. Leahy Funeral Home, Inc., 27 Smith Avenue. www.jvleahyfh.com Leonard’s family will receive friends at a memorial gathering Tuesday from 4 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home. Inurnment will be in Saint Mary’s Cemetery. Expressions of sympathy may be made in the form of contributions to Hospice, 34 Broadway, Kingston, N.Y., 12401.
