Margaret L. Byron Obituary
Margaret L. Byron MT. TREMPER- Margaret L. Byron, 91, of Rt. 212 died peacefully at the Byron Homestead on Friday, Dec. 14, 2012. She was born Feb. 1, 1921 in Neustadt ad Weinstrasse Germany, daughter of the late Peter and Louise Ehresmann Abel. She immigrated at the age of 7, to the N.Y. metropolitan area. She has been a resident of the Catskills since 1942. Years ago, she had been an x-ray technician at a TB Hospital, had worked at Golden Hill in Kingston, had been a postal clerk for 15 years in Mt. Tremper, having retired at age 65. She had been a member of the Shandaken Reformed Church of Mt. Tremper, as well as the Ladies Sewing Circle. She was a talented artist who worked with both oils and water colors, and was always busy crocheting afghans and doilies for family, friends, and worthy causes. Surviving are her three sons, Ted and Jerry Byron, both of Mt. Tremper, and Phil Byron of Phoenicia; a daughter, Diane Schneider of Nassau, N.Y.; five grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by her husbands Richard in 1975 and Nicholas in 1992. A Service to Celebrate the Life of Mrs. Byron will be held on Sunday at 1p.m. at the E. B. Gormley Funeral Home, 87 Main St., Phoenicia. Burial in Hudler Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the Mt. Tremper Fire Department. Friends will be received on Sunday from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. prior to the service at the E. B. Gormley Funeral Home.
