Mildred M. Helmich Obituary
Mildred M. Helmich RIALTO, CALIF. - Mildred M. Helmich, 93, of North Ayala Drive died suddenly Tuesday Jan. 28, 2014 at Community Hospital in San Bernadino. A former longtime resident of Rifton she relocated to Rialto in 2009. She was born in Brooklyn July 23, 1920 a daughter of the late Martin and Josephine Reinhardt Lang. Mildred was a registered nurse and nursing supervisor having worked 30 years at Benedictine Hospital in Kingston until her retirement. She was active in her community and a member of St. Peter’s Church and it’s Rosary Altar Society in Rosendale, American Legion Post 1219 Ladies Auxillary in Tillson, Chapter #975 AARP, The Town of Esopus Senior Citizens, The Rifton Fire Department Ladies Auxillary, Benedictine Hospital Auxillary, and the Retired Senior Volunteer Program in New Paltz. Her husband, Raymond E. Helmich died in 1983 and her son, Raymond E. Helmich Jr. died previously. She is survived by her loving family, including her daughter Jeanne Bingham and her husband Raymond, of Rialto, Calif., a daughter-in-law Arlene Helmich of Lumberbridge, N.C., a brother Martin Lang of Phoenix, Ariz., three sisters, Bertha Walz of Rosendale, Margaret Klejmont of Cordtland, N.Y., Rosemary Winters of Corning, N.Y., five grandchildren, Maryann Bingham of Rialto, Calif., Johnny R. Helmich of Seattle, Wash., Kathleen Bingham Lovato of Mesa, Ariz., Raymond W. Bingham of Redlands, Calif., and Michael Bingham of Apache Jct., Ariz. Also survived by two step-grandchildren, nine great grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews. Her funeral will be held 11 a.m. Saturday (Feb. 8) from the George J. Moylan Funeral Home Inc., 2053 Route 32, Rosendale. A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered 12 noon at St. Peter’s Church, Rosendale. Rev. Edmund Burke will officiate. Interment will follow at St. Peter’s Cemetery.
