Peter Falvey KINGSTON- Peter Falvey, beloved husband of Fern Malkine-Falvey and father by a first marriage of Ian Falvey, died in his sleep on April 2, 2011. He was 67. Born to Ruth Britt Falvey and Joseph Falvey, he was raised in Kingston and later received a BA from Amherst College, and a Master's Degree from U. Mass at Amherst. He taught psychology at U. Mass and at Western New England College and worked as a psychotherapist in Springfield, Mass. Peter took a personal interest in each of his clients, and was committed to making a difference in their lives. His personal loves were painting and poetry. An avid reader, his interests in this world were limitless. He was known for his quick wit and keen sense of humor. Peter is survived by his wife, Fern Malkine-Falvey; his son, Ian Falvey of California; a sister Judy Temple of Hurley; brothers, John of Texas and Jay of Kingston; an aunt and uncle, Marion and Joseph Benjamin of Lake Katrine, and two nieces. Friends are welcome to participate in a celebration of Peter's life, at the Reservoir Inn in West Hurley at 3 p.m. on Saturday, May 7, 2011.
