Richard “Dick” Benjamin SAUGERTIES- Richard ”Dick” Benjamin, 69, of Willow Lane died Tuesday, March 5, 2013 at the Northern Dutchess Hospital, Rhinebeck. Born July 15, 1943 in Saugerties he was the son of the late Vernon Joseph and Alice Voerg Benjamin. A graduate of Saugerties High School he was employed by I.B.M. for over thirty years retiring as a manager in 2001. He loved being outdoors and enjoyed hiking the mountains and kayaking along the Hudson River. He was a co-founder of the Malden Yacht Club and a volunteer guide with the Atlantic Kayak Tours located at Norrie Point State Park. Active in sports, he was a former coach in the Saugerties Little League and also played with the S.A.A. basketball and softball leagues. Survivors include his wife the former Barbara Wittenbecher, three Sons: Josh and his wife Maria Benjamin of Duvall, Wash., Jason and his wife Deirdre Benjamin of Haddonfield, N.J. and Patrick and his wife Renee Reynolds of Saugerties. One Brother: Vernon Benjamin of Saugerties. Six Grandchildren: Madelyn, Harper, Courtland and Tague Benjamin and Molly and Brady Reynolds also survive. He was predeceased by his older Brother: Joseph. Friends will be received Friday from 3:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m. at the Seamon-Wilsey Funeral Home, Inc. Cor. Of John & Lafayette Sts. Saugerties.
