Robert H “Elmo” Elmendorf RED HOOK- Robert H “Elmo” Elmendorf, 61, of Red Hook, died Monday, May 13, 2013 at the St. Francis Hospital in Poughkeepsie. A longtime Rhinebeck and Clinton Corners resident, Elmo was an avid NASCAR fan and enjoyed to camp with his family. For many years, Elmo worked as a truck driver with Dutchess Tire in Poughkeepsie, Modern Moving, and Triple A Paving. Born on Feb. 17, 1952, in Hyde Park, N.Y., he was the son of the late Robert E. and Laura Marie (Styers) Elmendorf. He is survived by his longtime companion; Brenda Feller of Red Hook, his sisters; Karen Durant of Arkansas, Patricia Schmidt of Arkansas, and Gloria Nivens of North Carolina, his brothers; William (Billy) Elmendorf of Poughkeepsie, Eddie Elmendorf of North Carolina, and Charlie Elmendorf of Arkansas, his step-children; Joann Concepcion of Saugerties, N.Y., Edward “Chip” Bathrick of Maryland, Dawn Marie Bathrick of New Hampshire, Amanda “Boo” Feller of Red Hook, and Amy “Blondie” Schriver of Kingston, twelve step- grandchildren, and several nieces, nephews, and friends. The family would like to extend their deepest gratitude to those who have cared for Elmo- most notably the St. Francis Infusion Center, Dr. William Tuebl, & Dr. Rubin. Friends may call at the Burnett & White Funeral Homes, 7461 S. Broadway, Red Hook on Friday, May 17th from 2 to 4 and 7 to 8 p.m. Funeral service will be held at 8 pm. Reverend Thomas L. Hartley will officiate. Cremation will be at private. Memorial donations may be made in Robert's memory to the , 2678 South Rd., Suite 103, Poughkeepsie, N.Y. 12601.
