Rose I. LeFever Obituary
Rose I. LeFever BLOOMINGTON- Rose I. LeFever, 90, of Main St. passed away on Sunday Sept. 29, 2013 surrounded by family members and friends. She was born in Walton, N.Y. Aug. 22, 1923 a daughter of the late Cecil and Mary Feltman. She married the late Judge Raymond F. LeFever in 1941. He passed Dec. 16, 2012. She was a political activist in the Republican Party most of her life and held various offices. She was vice chairman of Ulster County Republican Committee and held office in the N.Y.S. Federation of Republican Women. She was Ulster County District Representative for Senator Richard E. Schermerhorn, Senator Charles E. Cook, and Senator John Bonacic. She was also active in the Rosendale Library Association, Rosendale Historical Society, Ladies Auxillary of the Bloomington Fire Co., member of the Rip Van Winkle Boy Scouts, Kingston Bicentennial Commission, Ulster County Tercentennial Commission, and the United Reformed Church in Bloomington and SUNY Ulster RSVP program. Mrs. LeFever had been appointed by the legislature as an associate Historian for Ulster County. She is survived by a daughter Mary Jane Welsek and her husband John of Ridgefield Park, N.J., a son Fred LeFever and his wife Ruth of Bloomington, Grandchildren, Dawn Welsek-DePalma and her companion Chris Couturier of Ridgefield Park, N.J., Jeff Welsek, also of Ridgefield Park, Amanda Jean Quick and husband Alvin of Kingston, Michael LeFever and wife Johanna of Syracuse. Great Grandchildren, Tyler Welsek, Samantha Welsek, Nicole DePalma, Kaitlin DePalma and Rory Raymond LeFever. Also survived by several nephews and a niece. Her funeral service will be 11 a.m. Friday at the United Reformed Church in Bloomington. Rev. Stephen Hanson and Rev. Nickolas Miles will officiate. Interment will be in Riverview Cemetery, Port Ewen. Friends may call Thursday 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at the George J. Moylan Funeral Home Inc., 2053 Rt. 32, Rosendale.
