Ruth Kraft Obituary

Rhinebeck- Ruth E. Kraft, 100 years old, died peacefully at home on Wednesday, Jan. 27, 2016. She was predeceased by her husband Harold. F. Kraft, who died Feb. 22, 2005, in Phoenix, Ariz. Ruth was born in Tupelo Miss., on Aug. 29, 1915. Ruth is survived by her daughter, Barbara Kraft, with whom she lived in Rhinebeck, N.Y. for the last 10 years of her life; her twin sons, James H. Kraft, of Phoenix, Ariz., and John H. Kraft of Los Angeles, Calif.; and another daughter, Alice Kraft of Phoenix, Ariz. In addition, she is survived by seven grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren; as well as many nieces and nephews. Her granddaughter, Elizabeth Spinzia-Stevenson, is the Town Supervisor of Rhinebeck, N.Y. Ruth requested to be remembered with a donation to the Jayne Brooks Food Pantry at The Church of The Messiah. Checks should be made out to and mailed to The Church of The Messiah P.O. Box 248, Rhinebeck, N.Y., 12572, memoed “Food Pantry/ Ruth Kraft Memorial”.

Ruth, you lived a good, long life. It was indeed a pleasure to know you those years we played bridge at the clubhouse in Rhinebeck. You and I were never afraid to open four spades and darned if we wouldn't make it! Hoping you get lots of trump in your next hand up above. Next time I play I will definitely remember our laughter and the sparkle in your eyes!
