Shirley Corrado KINGSTON-Shirley Corrado, 85, of Kingston passed away at HealthAlliance Hospital Broadway Campus on Tuesday, May 7, 2013. Born in Newburgh in 1928, Shirley was the daughter of the late Rose Dougherty Kidd. She loved crocheting, bowling, bingo, reading, and doing crossword puzzles. For many years Shirley worked for the board of elections and was a member of American Legion Post #150 Ladies Auxiliary. Survivors include daughters, Nancy L. Whitaker and husband Edmund B. of Kingston and Lt. Commander U.S. Navy Retired, LuAnn Corrado of Avoca, Pa..; sons, Michael A. Corrado of Middleburgh, N.Y., Mark A. Corrado and his life partner Melody Stugard of Kingston, Steven A. Corrado and wife Deborah of Palm Harbor, Fla., and Paul Corrado and his partner Greg Howard of Catskill. A brother Louis Petramale and wife Lois of Kingston; grandchildren, Jodi Montaperto and husband Matteo, Michael Corrado, Jr., Ryan Whitaker and wife Ashley, and Jeri Whitaker; great-grandchildren, Angelo Rodriguez, Matteo Montaperto, Jr. and Savannah Rose Whitaker; dear friends, Rae Merecka and Joan VanWagner; nieces and nephews. Shirley was preceded in death by her husband, of 46 years, Angelo J. Corrado, and a brother, Walter Dougherty. Friends and relatives may call today Friday 5 to 8 p.m. at the Henry J. Bruck Funeral Home, 261 Broadway, Kingston, N.Y. Funeral procession will form 9:15 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home thence proceed to St. Mary's Church where at 10 a.m. a Mass of Christian Burial will be offered. Burial to follow in St. Mary's Cemetery. In lieu of flowers the family suggests donations be made to Disabled American Veterans, Ulster County Chapter #156, c/o Joseph Forte, 14 Deyo St., Kingston, N.Y., 12401.
