Obituary Condolences

Shirley A. Plitt SAUGERTIES-Shirley A. Plitt, 70, of Malden on Hudson died Tuesday, Jan. 15, 2013 at the Kingston Hospital. She was born in Glen Rock, N.J. on Dec. 9, 1942 to the late Cotton and Mae Groton Amy. An area resident for many years she moved to the area in 1982 from Stony Point, N.Y. During her working years she was employed at Markertek and J. C. Penney's as a sales associate. She had many hobbies particularly cooking for large crowds and playing Bingo. Shirley was a volunteer at the Saugeries Public Library. She was also a member of the Malden Yacht Club and enjoyed kayaking on the Hudson River. Survivors include her husband Gregory Brownstone. One daughter, Jeri and her husband Ed Guidry of Scotia, N.Y. One son, Michael Plitt and his wife Kristie of Darien, N.Y. Three Grandchildren, Esme Guidry, Arlo Guidry and Imogene Plitt and dear friends Paul and Claudia Andreassen. Shirley was pre-deceased by her first Husband Marc Plitt. Her Funeral Service will be 3:30 p.m. Saturday at the Seamon-Wilsey Funeral Home Inc. corner of John and Lafayette Sts. Saugerties. Friends may call Saturday 2 to 4 p.m. Internment will be at a later date. Memorial contributions may be made in memory of Shirley to the Saugerties Public Library Children's Fund.
