WOODSTOCK- Theodore Rivera, 86, of Woodstock, joined his wife on Nov. 5th, 2013.
Born in Manhattan, N.Y. on May 21st, 1927, he was the eldest of two boys. On July 10th, 1944, he was drafted by the U.S. Navy and served on CVE 107 USS Gilbert Island during World War II and was honorably discharged on June 6th, 1946.
After being discharged, he lived and worked in Manhattan, N.Y. as a salesman and for a law firm. He married Hilda M. Willigar on Oct. 26th, 1946.
They moved to Woodstock, in the late 60's. Ted worked for Gem Cadillac of Kingston and retired from Rotron.
He was a devoted member at Morning Star Fellowship for over 20 years.
Ted was predeceased by Hilda M. Rivera. He is survived by children Ted and Tina Rivera, Hugh and Linda Rivera, Linda and Anthony Carraturo and Thomas and Betty Rivera. Grandchildren: Jeremy and Mara Rivera, Penny Witherspoon, Heather Worczak, Robyn Rivera, Naomi and Tina Dunn, Carla Altomer and Karen Carraturo. Great grandchildren: Mia Rivera, Hannah, Hope, Holly and Zach Wotherspoon, Justin Humes, Jarred Worczak, Autumn and Audrina Benjamin, Gage Smith, Austin Dunn and Logan Altomer.
Ted Rivera dedicated his life in service to the Lord and to his family. He was a devoted husband, and his 67 year marriage to Hilda Rivera was a source of inspiration for many.
