HURLEY-Gary J. Davis, 62 of Hurley, N.Y. died Friday Feb. 28, 2014 at Albany Medical Center in Albany, N.Y.
Born July 13, 1951 in Kingston he is the son of Jean (Camp) Davis and the late Raymond W. Davis.
Gary attended Saint Joseph's School and graduated from Kingston High School Class of 1971. He attended SUNY Delhi. He had a 35 year career with the railroad which began with CSX in Selkirk, N.Y.
At the time of his retirement in 2011, he was a conductor for the Metro North Railroad. He was a former member of the Spring Lake Fire Department and an avid fan of NASCAR. If you knew Gary, you would know that he kept his automobiles in pristine condition. He spent countless hours around his home maintaining the lawns and landscape.
Surviving in addition to his mother is his wife, Gail M. Davis of Hurley with whom he would have celebrated 38 years of marriage in Sept.; his brother, Michael R. Davis of Dover Plains, N.Y.; his sister, Kathy Schatzel and her husband Don of Arcadia, Calif.; his mother-in-law, Helen A. Shultis; brothers and sisters-in- law, Rick and Simeona Shultis and Carollee Shultis; nieces and nephews: J.R., Kevin and his wife Lorena and their daughter Olivia, Connor, Sarah and Leah Davis, Richard Shultis, Jr. and his wife Cristi and their children Logan and Isabella and Stephanie Shultis.
Cremation and memorial arrangements are under the guidance of the Joseph V. Leahy Funeral Home, Inc., 27 Smith Avenue, Kingston.

A memorial visitation will be held Thursday from 10:30 a.m. to 12 noon at the Immaculate Conception Church, 467 Delaware Avenue. A 12 noon Memorial Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated. Expressions of sympathy may be made in the form of contributions to the Immaculate Conception Church.
